Homes Reuse Program Now Open

There’s a new opportunity we wanted to make sure was on your radar.

The NSW Reconstruction Authority, in partnership with Homes NSW, is inviting expressions of interest from eligible organisations to relocate buyback homes and temporary pods for community reuse as affordable, social, transitional or crisis accomodation.

Beyond housing, these homes can also be used to establish community spaces that provide human and social support services, offering real flexibility for organisations to meet the needs of their community.

Eligible organisations include:

  • Aboriginal Community Housing Providers (ACHPs)
  • Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs)
  • Local Aboriginal Land Councils (LALCs)
  • NRSCH Registered Community Housing Providers
  • Along with Local Councils and not-for-profit organisations

Expressions of Interest are open now and close 17 September 2026.

Upcoming Information Day

An in-person Applicant Information Day will be held in Lismore on Friday 14 August 2026, where you can learn more, connect with government and industry representatives, and get support through the EOI process.

Want to learn more or get involved? Reach out to the NSW Reconstruction Authority at homesreuse@reconstruction.nsw.gov.au.

Thank you, we are processing your submission.
Please stand by as this may take a few seconds.

Acknowledgement of Country

ACHIA NSW acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land we live, work and play on. We pay our respects to Elders past and present, for they hold the memories, traditions, culture, and hopes of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders across this beautiful nation. These lands were never ceded; it always was and always will be Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander lands.
